About this Event
Old apple and pear trees need pruning differently to restore them to health and help them fruit plentifully for future decades. Alan Thornton will help you understand the theory and practice of restoring old fruit trees.
If you can, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers and a pruning saw. Tools will be provided if you don’t have your own. Remember to dress appropriately for the outdoor weather!
Participants will receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".
The Springfield Centre can be reached on the 608, 617/618 buses. There is street car parking the area.
This is part of a programme of short training courses that you might also be interested in: formative pruning; bench grafting; top grafting; scything; summer pruning & bud grafting.
Covid-19 might mean we have to change the date, but we would be in touch with registered participants at least a week before the scheduled date if that is the case.
