The United Church in Tallahassee Christian Education Committee and Community Action Committee are co-hosting an after-worship speaker on Sunday, June 16. Janelle Edens, the executive director of Connection First, will offer a Restorative Justice presentation.
Connection First is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in Tallahassee whose mission is "to cultivate peace and healing through human connection. We do this with restorative practices and nonviolent communication."
CFI facilitates what are called restorative justice conferences for people in Leon County. Restorative Justice is a voluntary process that gives impacted parties a voice while promoting healing and accountability. The Restorative Justice process includes a facilitated conversation amongst the remorseful person responsible for the harm and the impacted parties. Learn more at connectionfirst.org.
