About this Event
Get ready for Restoration Station!
Wednesday 29th - Friday 31st May: 9.30am - 12.30pm
Followed by a Church Service and BBQ on 2nd June, starting at 10.45am.
What to expect?
At St James' we have been running Holiday Clubs for several years now and the clubs always provide a special and enjoyable week of activities for the children who attend.
This year's theme is Restoration Station and each day we'll focus on Jesus and how he can help us.
A typical day at holiday club (9.30am - 12.30pm) will contain the following:
Arrival: A chance for children to meet their leaders and do some warm up activities together.
All together time: All the groups will come together for front led activities including songs, games, and drama. The children will hear the Bible story for the day, presented in a fun and interactive way and the there will be a chance to chat about it in groups, after.
Refreshments: So that we have plenty of energy for the morning there will be time for some drinks, healthy snacks and biscuits - as well as more time for children to make friends with the children in their groups.
Craft and Games: In their Groups, children will take part in themed crafts and games
All Together (again): The children will come together again for a slapstick drama (presented by our young helpers), more songs, jokes a quiz and a possibly even a chance to 'pie' one of the leaders!
Home time: Children will be collected by their parents and carers, hopefully bringing a craft creation or two with them!
What does it cost?
We ask for payment of £10 per child. (This is reduced to £9 for two siblings and then to £8 for three siblings and £8 for four or more siblings), but we do not want anyone to be put off by the cost. We are able to subsidise the cost in part or full for any family on request. Just let us know and we'll send you a code to bypass the payment section.
Payments are made at the point of booking via Eventbrite.
How do I book and pay?
Please book and pay in advance through Eventbrite. If payment is a problem just let us know and we will send you a code to bypass the payment.
What if my child is too old to attend?
The oldest children will be those who are in year 6. If your child is currently in year 7 or above, they may like to find out about being a young leader. Please contact us if you would like more information.
What if my child is too young to attend?
The youngest children will be those in Reception at school. If your child is younger than this, we will be happy to tell you about our weekly Early Years activities which take place in term time.
Can you cater for my child's needs?
We hope so! Several of our team have experience working with children who have additional needs, including those with ADHD, children on the autistic spectrum, children with dyslexia and various physical and educational needs. Several of our team are trained in first aid and administration of an epi-pen.
We also seek to make sure that there are good food options for children with any particular dietary requirements.
If your child has any additional need that you would like to discuss with us before booking, please feel free to contact us - [email protected]
What if my child can't come?
If your plans change, please let us know and we will refund you. If your child is unwell on the day then we will happily refund you for the day(s) they miss.
Can I book my child for a few days, rather than the whole club?
Our numbers are restricted and we can only take bookings for children who can attend all three mornings.
What if it's fully booked?
We are sorry if you are unable to book due to us reaching capacity. If this is the case you can join our waiting list and hope to release your child a space if it becomes available.
