The Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program is proud to announce the return of our Restoration Rambles Program! These easy, guided walking tours highlight local restoration sites and will be offered monthly from November - March on rotating Fridays and Saturdays. Join us for a Restoration Ramble led by Alabama State Park to learn about the fire-dependent ecosystem in Gulf State Park and current restoration management practices. During this hike, you’ll learn about the important benefits of routine controlled burns and pass by a bald eagle's nest, where you'll have the opportunity to learn more about these incredible birds.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Total distance of just under a mile, with half a mile off-trail through potentially wet grass, and half a mile along paved paths and boardwalks. The terrain is mostly flat.
- Hats, sunglasses, close-toed shoes, water, sunscreen, jacket, and bug spray are recommended.
- Birders may wish to bring binoculars!
- All ages are welcome, but the content being discussed on the walking tour is geared for adult learners.
- A map and additional details including parking instructions will be sent to registered attendees a day or two before the tour.
Please note, registration is REQUIRED. Only registered attendees will receive the additional directions/instructions.
