About this Event
Restoration is a multidisciplinary, meditative installation merging spoken word, music, visual art, soundscapes and videos designed to invite you to reconnect and rejuvenate yourself. It offers insight into the healing journey of a survivor of childhood sexual trauma and domestic abuse while inviting visitors to interact with a range of prompts for creative and contemplative pratice.

Artist, Award and Performance
It has been created by Juanita Rea, Visiting Scholar at the School of Arts, English and Languages, Queen's University Belfast (QUB) with funding through an Arts Council Northern Ireland 2023 SIAP Award. She is also a recipient of 2 ACNI Minority Ethnic Awards (2021/2022)

Booking and Access
Access to the building and the room is restricted. You have to book a slot to be let in and a volunteer will be at the SARC Reception Foyer at 11:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 16:00 to bring visitors up to the venue. You are welcome to stay longer during the self-guided journey periods. If you are late, please email [email protected] and wait at the SARC Reception until you are let in.
All 1:1 Consultations and Group Workshops must be booked separately. Visitors are very welcome to visit the installation before a 1:1 Consultation or Group Workshop. Visitors are also welcome to book these on the day if there are slots available.
Visa Extension Fundraiser
Juanita is an Indian South African artist and recipient of a Global Talent Visa Endorsement from Arts Council since 2021.
She is raising £3,286 for her visa extension fee (£716) and immigration health surchange (IHS, £2070 ) due for submission by December 13th, 2024. This March ,the Home Office doubled the IHS fees placing immense pressure on people like Juanita who are self-employed. She was also previously served an unjustified Deportation Notice (which was overtuned with the support of `Claire Hanna MP) and also needs legal support (£500) to process the visa successfully.
Refund and Ticket Transfer Policy
Tickets are non-refundable however they are transferable only with this series If you cannot attend, you can give the ticket/s to someone else and need to inform us in advance. Or you can opt to attend another event in this series. Just let us know and we will assist you.

Concessions / Funded Spaces
As a survivor of complex trauma who also had to overcome immigration challenges, Juanita is passionate about supporting the wellbeing of underserved and vulnerable people.
There are concessionary spots per day for people from immigrant, asylym seeker, refugee and vulnerable backgrounds.
