This deeply nurturing 90-minute treat is designed to lengthen and release tired muscles and quieten busy minds.We will start with a short breathing practice and guided meditation whilst we sip a carefully selected tea and allow its relaxing effects to sink in.
We will then move into a gentle yoga practice designed to “restore” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system function, which, in turn, helps the body rest, heal, and restore balance.
The postures will be floor based and held for a longer time than in a movement-based classes which helps elicit the relaxation response. This response can help slow breathing, reduce blood pressure, and produce a feeling of calm and increased well-being.
We will also use props such as blocks, bolsters and blankets to support the body to stay comfortable in poses for longer.
