Yoga Nidra, also known as the yoga of sleep or deep rest, is a guided meditative practice that restores our inner balance and brings deep restoration and nourishment. Yoga Nidra activates delta brainwaves and shifts the body into the parasympathetic nervous system, which allows the body and mind to rest, even while you are awake. Studies have shown that Yoga Nidra alleviates chronic pain, insomnia and stress and improves mental clarity and creativity.
For this event, we will begin with a brief introduction to Yoga Nidra and the many health benefits of this practice. You will then be guided into a meditative space while lying down for the remainder of the practice. Yoga Nidra is accessible to all ages, abilities and is not limited to a particular body type or fitness level as no movement is required. You will simply be invited to rest and listen. Bring several layers and whatever you need to get comfortable and cozy.
Anna is a yoga teacher (RYT 200) with specialized training in the practice of Yoga Nidra. She is also a Reiki Master and Clinical Psychologist and is passionate about supporting healing, deep listening and a clearer sense of connection to our true selves.
Anna recently moved to Western Michigan from New Orleans to live a slower-paced life close to nature.
Cost is $20 per person.
