Rest & Relax: Candlelight Yoga Nidra
🌿 What is Yoga Nidra?
Derived from ancient yogic traditions, Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep," is a meditative practice that takes you in between two layers of consciousness, the state between wakefulness and dreaming. In this guided journey, we begin by setting an intention, a positive statement to plant in the subconscious mind. Through setting this intention and through consistent yoga nidra practice, we can cleanse samskaras (mental impressions, like a collection of old habitual patterns) and create new patterns in the brain. Then we move through a series of body scans, breath awareness, and visualizations. The brain waves slow down and allow you to shift into a more restorative, restful state.
