About this Event
This course package is intended for new and experienced researchers looking to participate in and design/apply RRI to research projects. A package of a one-day Foundation workshop, augmented by four self-study learning modules as an ideal introduction to the theory and practice of RRI. Suitable for all disciplines and career levels.
The course package consists of the following modules:
● Ethics by Design (Self-study)
● Responsible Organisations (Self-study)
● Stakeholder Engagement (Self-study)
● Sustainable Research (Self-study)
The course will familiarise participants with the foundational principles of RRI and provide a detailed analysis of the AREA (Anticipate, Reflect, Engage, Act) framework along with: equality/diversity and inclusion (EDI), ethics, public engagement, open access, and science education. Participants will be given in-depth training on a suite of software tools that help to structure, streamline and showcase RRI activities.
What will you gain?
On completion of the course, delegates will have access to online materials to support with future impact projects for the next year. Also, participants will recieve a certificate of completion, become part of the CU responsible innovation community, and can become a resposible innovation championg at Cardiff University.
Why is Responsible Innovation important for Researchers?
Responsible innovation will be a key element and feature on future grant proposals… it is KEY that researchers understand what RRI is and how to include it in research and impact projects.
For researchers, responsible innovation is a process that seeks to promote creativity and opportunities for science and innovation that are socially desirable and undertaken in the public interest. Research has the ability to not only produce understanding, knowledge and value, but also unintended:
