If you've been watching us from afar, and feeling curious, now is your chance to find out what it's like to join your voice with this special crew.
This is not an auditioned group! We have folks at many varying levels of comfort with using their voices, and experience with group singing. Although this choir is not exclusively queer, it is queer-centered, and it's such a joy to build connection this way, especially at a time like this.
This space is cultivated as fertile soil for presence, play, healing and liberatory culture building. The relationships we seed here are spreading out into other areas of our lives, and inviting collaborations of all kinds!
We recognize that singing in community is our cultural birthright as humans, and should be accessible to all!
There are sliding scale fees, scholarships (funded by our Season Finales!), Reparations, and work trade positions available. If you have questions, please check the FAQS on the site, and reach out with any further inquiries.
We begin March 6!

What is Resound Community Choir?
Resound is a gathering of singers with a wide range of singing experience and cultural identities.
Resound is a directed experience, with sliding-scale fees, meeting weekly, for a 12-week season. Our last season was capped at 50 singers (with about 25 attending most weeks). This season will most likely be a bit larger group, capped at 100 (and about 50 singers attending most weeks).
Who: Anyone who wants to find healing through vocal exploration and harmony, and who wants to experience the radical joy of working towards communal liberation! Every level of vocal experience is welcome!
Although we welcome all identities, the aim is to create a haven for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled folks and anyone else who is struggling to find a place where they can open up in this way.
What: We learn to sing by singing, and yet so many of us have struggled to find our voices, or to feel safe enough to explore them. Our voice is such an integral part of our physical experience, connected to our traumas and fears as much as it is to our joys and celebrations. This is a trauma-informed space, where we will strive to practice at that edge where we feel nourished enough to get a little bit uncomfortable.
The level of challenge will vary from simple rounds and heartfelt layered songs learned by ear, to meaningful, multi-part choral pieces, using written sheet music (for those who like a challenge). We will be singing some originals, written by myself and other community members, some by modern composers, a few Eastern European polyphonic harmony pieces, and a few other traditional pieces. There is something here for everyone!
When: Thursdays, 6:15-8:30pm for a 12 week season, 3/6 - 5/31 (with a break on 4/17). Our Season Finale concert will be on Saturday, 5/31.
