About this Event
Resonant Currents by Iwalani Kaluhiokalani and Lani Asunción explores water as both a physical and symbolic force, blending sound, video, performance, and wearable art to illuminate unseen connections. Iwalani Kaluhiokalani and Lani Asunción recently collaborated together in ‘Tabi Tabi Po’ (May I Pass) a performance part of SONG/ LAND/ SEA: WAI Water Warnings, a public art installation by Asuncion on the Rose Kennedy Greenway on view through Summer 2025.
Inspired by bathymetric charts, the flow of underwater ecosystems, and the human body’s fluid dynamics, the artists create an immersive experience that bridges self and environment. Through restorative soundscapes, video projections, and costuming as a living bridge, the performance celebrates water’s depth as a force of nature and metaphor, inviting audiences to engage with the unseen currents and histories that bind us in an age of climate change. Join this multisensory journey!
Resonant Currents is presented in conjunction with on view December 4–29, 2024 at Kingston Gallery.
