About this Event
For the first time the associations present in the territory have joined together to bring the celebrations for the Italian Liberation Day in the North of England.
In the year that marks the centenary of the death of Giacomo Matteotti, who denounced Fascist violence and actions in Italy fostering the international presence of Anti-fascism at the expense of his own life, we meet to talk about Resistance, the international nature of the fight against Fascism and how to reaffirm Anti-fascism in the years to come in Italy and in the rest of the world.
We are looking forward to meeting you on Sunday 28th April 2024 at 11.30 am to celebrate together during an initiative that will see the contribution of:
- Gianluigi Cassandra, President of the Manchester Com.It.Es;
- Alfio Bernabei, historian and curator of the exhibition on Giacomo and Velia Matteotti in London;
- Robert Hargreaves, North West International Brigade Memorial Group;
- Simone Rossi, National Association of Partisans of Italy;
- Moderated by Giulia Sirigu, Secretary of the Democratic Party in Manchester.

The Liberation Day celebrations are organised by: ANPI, INCA CGIL UK, ACLI, Democratic Party, with the parceipation of the North West International Brigade Memorial Group.
