About this Event
Join us to design a one-of-a-kind presentation board using FDA food safe resin and a variety of amazing embellishments that are on hand in the studio to use if you decide you may want to do so. Things like mirrored gravel, glass gems, metallic foils, german glass, or even pieces of jewelry to take your creation to the next level.
There are an endless variety of resin pigment pastes for colour choices and more mica powder than you'll ever wish for - so the options are staggering and only limited to your imagination; but don't worry at all about coming up with a concept for your board because we have a ton of inspirational pieces here for you to be used to motivate you and your ideas. Your Creative Coach, BerylAnne also provides pictures of resin pours that others have done to give you some insight as to what can be achieved with the right support and creative surroundings. Even those who have said, "I don't have a creative bone in my body" have left with something they are incredibly proud of having done!
No other workshop gives you a full set of colours, resin & tools to have a practice run before you start your finished board. You will also be given a 10"x10" panel on which to "practice" your techniques and colour choices prior to actually doing your presentation/charcuterie board so you get a really good idea of what your board will end up looking like. This has really been one of the things that sets our resin workshops apart - "play" through "practice" is such an important aspect to feeling comfortable with resin and the techniques that will be demonstrated.
Y our Creative Coach will go over the basics of resin (safety, where to buy, what's available); board prep, will then demonstrate the most popular techniques to achieve cells & lacing, swiping, using a heat gun & torch and lastly how to dress up your boards if that's what you decide you want to do. There are never two boards that are the same and a really nice variety to choose from.
All supplies are included in this workshop. No previous experience with resin is necessary but you must be 16+ to participate. Class number is limited so and this is a popular workshop so sign up quickly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Resin takes a minimum of 12 hours to cure so you will not be permitted to take your board home with you but can make arrangements to pick it up the next day or at a time that is convenient.
Please dress in old clothing as resin is unforgiving but aprons and gloves are provided. The Studio is in the lower level so being able to get up and down one flight stairs is necessary.
Refreshments such as coffee, tea, pop, water and snacks are here for you but you can bring something of your own choice as well.
Registration: Preferred method is by etransfer directly to [email protected] or by using our ticketing agent, Eventbrite.
