Join Adrian Koski, Grant Coordinator for the Racine Public Health Department Laboratory, as he presents an insightful overview of local environmental initiatives that safeguard public health and enhance our community. From water quality monitoring and pollution control to innovative beach restoration and habitat improvement projects, Adrian will explore the lab's pivotal role in maintaining a safe and vibrant Racine. Learn how collaborations, advanced testing methods, and public outreach efforts protect our waters, support native biodiversity, and improve recreational spaces like North Beach and Sam Myers Park.
Adrian J. Koski is a environmental scientist and Grant Coordinator at the City of Racine Public Health Department Laboratory, where he has served for over a decade. With an M.S. in Freshwater Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a B.S. in Geoscience from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Adrian brings expertise in water quality research, environmental health, and public safety. His work focuses on creating and managing water quality programs, coordinating field teams, and leading community-based environmental restoration projects.
Adrian’s efforts have supported impactful initiatives across local watersheds, improving the quality and safety of recreational water areas through advanced monitoring techniques and public outreach. He has presented at numerous national conferences, sharing his insights on issues like fecal bacteria monitoring, habitat restoration, and watershed health. Adrian’s experience and publications make him a valuable voice in environmental science, committed to sustainable practices that benefit both ecosystems and communities.
