We need urgent change in the way we manage movement in our cities. Not only do we experience a higher load on the infrastructures and are we seeing more exceptions to regular movement and the modes of transport, we have new sustainability goals, emission targets, and safety concerns. All the while local economies and social structures depend on access and participation in mobility solutions.
Townmaking is a common approach to developing resilient urban solution in collaboration between sectors. Aspiring for the highest engineering standards, and starting from the assumption that technology needs to meet the fluid and relational nature of society, and be able to deal with bot the well understood as the unforeseen. We believe for solutions to bring true wellbeing they need to come in connected groups, spanning different areas of life, that together create vibrant and regenerative ecosystems. From this perspective we recognise that mobility issues cannot be solved solely within the domain of mobility. We need to develop local economies and skills to ensure we minimise unnecessary travel, for instance, and maximise 'good movement' for us and our neighbourhoods.
