Come out to Florida Caverns State Park on Saturday, November 9th at 9:00 AM CST for an exciting and educational foraging class led by Billy Bailey of Old Ways Environmental Education!👨🏫 Billy bring over 20 years of experience in environmental education, having led more than 5,000 programs for over 75,000 participants—and now it’s your turn to join the fun!
🧑🌾 This hands-on class is two hours worth of discovering the wild edible and medicinal plants growing right in our own backyard.
🌾 You’ll learn how to safely identify and gather over two dozen useful plants found throughout Jackson and the surrounding counties.
Foraging was a basic skill that was part of the daily life of our ancestors that kept them healthy and self sustainable. We look forward to learning wild edible plants with you and your family.
(Families are welcome to enjoy the caves and the playgrounds after)
