About this Event
For more than three decades, Chicago’s Broken Arrow Horseback Riding Club has worked to keep the “west” in Midwest with its flagship annual event: the Speed and Action Rodeo and Horse Show. The South Shore spectacle puts a spotlight on the city’s cowboy scene and the often-overlooked contributions of Black cowboys in American history.
We’ll talk with rodeo organizers, riders and other country connoisseurs about this history and explore the urban cowboy and cowgirl experience, life lessons learned on horseback, and Chicago’s rowdy roots.
Break out your boots and join Reset and the Broken Arrow riding club for an afternoon of torch and twang at the South Shore Cultural Center. This is a free event with a suggested donation of $15 to benefit the riding club.
Since Reset is a weekday show and the rodeo falls on a Sunday, this will be a live taping, not a live broadcast. The segments we record at the rodeo will air on Reset the following day.
