About the Speaker:
Prof. Dr. Otto Hospes investigates private and public governance of global commodity chains, with a focus on palm oil and Indonesia. Drawing from legal anthropology and political science, his work addresses controversies around sustainable palm oil across international, national, and local levels. A former senior evaluator at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has coordinated large interdisciplinary PhD research programs on global value chains. He also collaborates extensively with Indonesian scholars in his role as Adjunct Professor at IPB University, Bogor.
