Kevin Brooks, 2023 Fellowship recipient with the Leelenau Historical Society, has completed a documentary on a previously unknown history of Black homesteaders in Leelanau County titled "The Search for Anna and Levi." A book manuscript is in the works. He’ll discuss his research including traditional records along with social media.Our meetings begin at noon with social time, then a short business meeting before the presentation. Attendees are responsible for their own lunches. Guests are welcome to attend two meetings/presentations before being asked to join.
