Carrier and Sekani Family Services will be holding a focus group in Prince George on October 4 from 12pm-4pm. The goal is to gather input on the 33 Recommendations from the 2006 Highway of Tears Symposium. We want to find out what has been done since 2006 and what still needs attention to prevent further violence against Indigenous women and girls.All community members affected by the Highway of Tears and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), as well as non-Indigenous people who have ties or working relationships with communities, are invited to take part in the focus group.
Free lunch and refreshments will be provided for all participants, and travel costs will be covered for all participants belonging to the 11 member Nations we serve.
