This hybrid ceremony bridges the timeless wisdom of Mvskoke traditions with evolving contemporary practices. Through community, reconnection, and the harmonizing power of sound with a sound bath, we seek a path to healing, renewal, and shared strength. Together, we move forward, carried by the love of those around us, the land beneath us, and the ancestors who continue to guide us.Event detailed description:
As a reconnecting Mvskoke, Vada Bronsink offers this grief circle as a hybrid ceremony that intertwines traditional Mvskoke practices with contemporary healing modalities. Rooted in the ancestral tradition of gathering in community to honor and express grief, this circle provides a sacred space to voice our losses, pain, and sorrows. Here, we lift our stories to the ancestors and the spirit world, allowing our grief to be shared, witnessed, and held.
Guided by Mvskoke values of respect, reciprocity, and interconnectedness, this grief circle reminds us that we do not carry our burdens alone. Our grief is held not only by the community but also by the land and the spirits who walk with us. Together, we create a space where the collective strength of our voices and stories unites to heal.
Following the circle, Zina Al-Shukri will transition the ceremony into a sound bath, allowing the gentle vibrations of singing bowls to wash over us. These bowls, instruments of healing, resonate with pure tones that help cleanse the spirit and release the heaviness of grief. The vibrations will guide us in grounding our emotions and finding harmony between earth and sky.
