About this Event
Utah’s Repertory Dance Theatre is the nation’s oldest and most successful repertory dance company. Unlike conventional modern dance organizations, RDT offers a diverse range of modern dance styles and choreographers paired together in dynamic and unexpected performances. For its evening program in Casper, RDT will offer four strikingly different and equally stunning works of choreography: Oktet: In Situ (8 people in their natural habitat) celebrates the energy, individuality, and the general sense of rebuilding the community. Chairs is choreography for dancers and chairs. The form and content of the dance mirrors life. “Chairs is filled with unforgettable and lush movement that speaks of the human experience–a work that is beautifully shaped. Chairs deepens in meaning, and as its fabric grows more and more substantial, it becomes translucent rather than dense.” (The Village Voice) “Solfège, Yusha-Marie Sorzano’s first commission for RDT, was wow, wow and wow, with the company in superb moments and an ending that was stupendous in its emotional impact.” (Les Roka, The Utah Review) Outdoors is a contemporary, tribalistic, pattern-piece filled with quirky invention laced with rhythmic humor.
