Dany Williams is Queensland Museum’s Senior Repatriation Manager. His work centres on connecting and liaising with First Nations Elders and Community to return First Nations cultural heritage items back to community and ensuring that items surrendered to Queensland Museum are cared for.

Dany has worked all over Queensland and is currently working on the return of the Burnett River Rocks home to community – nearly half of the 92 engraved boulders originally located on a significant sacred site on the Burnett River, Bundaberg have been returned to date.

During this public talk, Dany will share his knowledge of repatriation, his nuanced understanding of the Cultural Heritage Acts and how individuals and institutions can surrender items in their care.
