Got the bug for fixing tech and electronics?
Then come along to our regular Thursday meetup and be a part of this exciting new initiative
About this Event

From Thursday 16th November we'll be running a weekly meetup for working on your own repairs in a collaborative and social setting

Repair Club - Project Night is run by fixers for other fixers, with everyone paying a membership sub and putting some time/energy/imagination into running it

It'll be focused on the new surge of DIY repairing - spurred on by the Right to Repair movement, repair cafes and a host of brilliant YouTubers - but you can also bring non-repair projects to work on

Queen’s Crescent Fixing Factory has a moderately equipped (and growing) electronics repair workshop

In addition we have:

‘Lonely Parts Club’ - parts box which you can salvage parts from

‘Breakables’ - ownerless items to learn and practise on

‘Unfixables?’ - challenging fixes…that may or may not be within a mortal’s reach - do you want to have a go?

You don’t need to have masses of experience to join, but it is intended for fixer-maker-tinkerers with a solid level of self-sufficiency as there will be no classes, instructors or support staff (although there will always be a first aider and a safety leader present) - if you’re familiar with Maker or Hackspaces you’ll know the score. If you’re totally new to fixing/electrical/electronics you may be better off joining Fixing Factory as a volunteer and signing up for the Future Fixers training modules, which will give you the foundation you need

This is experimental - we have the use of the Queen's Crescent Fixing Factory workshop for one evening a week

We want this to be a self-sustaining activity, so will need financial contributions from 16th November, but you're welcome to just drop by and say hello, and check out the Fixing Factory

We're starting off with this proposed contribution/subscription structure:

Full membership: £15 per month by direct debit (currently WIP)

Supporter membership (you really want this to exist, but will likely only be an occasional user): £5 per month, plus £5 per session attended

One-off taster session: £5

Once we get going we'll also run some open nights...but let's get going first!
