We are holding a Repair Cafe as part of the Community Cafe at St John's Church, Harborne. Our aim to restore and repair things of all kinds, in order to reduce waste, prolong lifespan and save unnecessary cost of replacements.We are willing to have a look at almost any household item including appliances, electrical items and electronics. We are also happy to help with repairs to broken wooden, plastic and other similar items. We also have sewing specialists for clothing repair or maintenance. If you aren't sure do please come along and we can have a discussion about how we might help.
A word about clocks - we can and do repair clocks which run off batteries (these are one of our most popular items!) but mechanical clocks (ie those which are wound with a key) need specialist attention and we cannot assist with these.
We can't promise to repair everything, but we can promise to have a good look and do what we can, hopefully share some knowledge and a cup of tea as we do so.
So if you have something broken that you'd like to see restored to life please bring it along and we'll see how we can help. All our work is free of charge, and offered as service to the community by St John's Church.
The cafe is open from 10:30am to 12:30pm, and do please come even if you don't have anything to repair, as there will be tea, cakes and community!
