A coach trip from London to Rendlesham Forest with audio commentary, pub lunch and full guided tour of the mysterious 1980 UFO sightings.
About this Event

The truth may never be known about the incidents that took place in Rendlesham Forest in December 1980. They have since begun to drift into the mists of folklore, and the mythological fog of war, and have been described as 'Britain's Roswell'.

But something truly unusual did happen. A large number of United States Air Force personnel from the nearby twin bases at RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters witnessed phenomena that none of them have ever been able to explain. The official memo spoke of ‘unexplained lights’ – UFOs being too emotive a term – but, as later emerged, there was much more to it than that.

Master storytellers Minimum Labyrinth have created an experience that takes you on a trip from London to the silent beauty of the Suffolk woods, from the present day to the height of the Cold War, from the everyday to the uncanny. Whether you want to believe, or you are resolutely sceptical, within the remarkable events we find a story of our own fears and compulsions.

Covid safety

If Covid precautions still need to be in place in December 2021, we will implement full safety precautions throughout the day in line with Ramblers guidance. Travel will be by luxury 57-seater coach and we will limit numbers so only those in bubbles need sit together. If you are able to wear a mask then we will ask you to do so whenever on the coach. Please be reassured that if Covid prevents this event taking place, you will receive a full refund.

  • What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? The pick-up point will be close to Stratford Station. As well as the public transport interchange, there are several car parks available.
  • Can you pick me up from intermediate locations? Sorry, but in order to keep to schedule, we can't stop along the way.
  • Can I join just for the walk and make my own way there? We are not offering this option, as an integral part of the event will be the story told on the journey there.

  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Either that, or you can show it electronically.
  • Can I update my registration information? Yes.
  • Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes.
  • Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes, but there will be a cut-off point for lunch choices so they may have to eat what you ordered!
  • Ooh, the pub has lots of other delicious lunch options. Can I choose from its à la carte menu when I get there? Unfortunately not, as they won't have time to cook it and serve you before the coach leaves again for the walk itself.
  • I'm allergic to something on the menu. Let us know when booking and we will ask the pub what they can do.
