About the Author:

A native of Louisiana, Jane Singleton grew up knowing that French was an integral part of her family heritage: her maternal grandparents were French-speaking.

During the fifteen years she worked as a language teacher at the French High School in Washington, D.C., she was immersed in the world of children's literature, both English and French. The discoveries she made there inspired her to invent and write stories of her own.
