About this Event
My latest painting, Black Renaissance, is intended to be an emblem of pride, reclamation, triumph, and freedom. It is modeled after a coat of arms, and every aspect of the painting has symbolic meaning. This piece is important to me personally, because I created it during a tremendous period of transformation, and healing. As I overcame a series of heartbreaking losses in my life, I had no choice but to transform my entire being - my mindset, my behavior, my habits, and my approach to difficult situations in my life - in order to recover, survive, and continue to create, grow, and thrive.
Recognizing the importance and the power of transformation in our lives, I want to encourage everyone in the community, both artists and art lovers alike, to embrace healthy change and transformation. With that in mind, I will produce a live art and music celebration which embodies and evokes those same themes: self-pride, reclamation of the mind, body, and spirit; healing, growth, triumph, joy, and self-liberation.
