On Sunday, April 28, at 3:00pm the Remington Series presents a piano duet concert featuring prize winning duo team Amy Tan and Chee-Hang See in a program of American music, including Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, commentating its 100th anniversary! The duo last performed at Franke at Seaside in 2015 and is looking forward to returning for this special concert. Join us for this fun program! Admission is free, donations appreciated.
The Remington Concerts were founded by Ms. Emily Remington, “Miss Emily”, who was a resident of Franke for seventeen years and lent her considerable talents and connections to bring quality cultural events to Franke and the Community. She was well known in Charleston where she served as Organist/ChoirMaster for Grace Episcopal Church (now Grace Church Cathedral), taught at the College of Charleston, and was founder of the Singers Guild (now the CSO Chorus). In addition, she served as Dean of the Charleston AGO chapter and was a member of the Charleston Music Club. She served as accompanist/performer for the Spoleto Festival USA and was on the original planning committee for the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. A charitable fund which now supports the fall concert of the International Piano Series at the College of Charleston was established in her name.
