🗣️ Colonel Jason Quilliam C.D., FRCGS will explore Saskatchewan’s connection to the war by highlighting local battalions that participated in the conflict and their legacies today. Colonel Quilliam has served in the Canadian Armed Forces since 1997 on bases across Canada and he was deployed twice to Afghanistan. Colonel Quilliam had the privilege of commanding the 38 Service Battalion from 2023 to 2025. In addition, he has been Saskatchewan’s Chief of Protocol since 2012.
📽️ After the talk, stay for a film screening of Peter Jackson’s 2018 documentary, “They Shall Not Grow Old,” featuring groundbreaking restored footage of the First World War and stories from the trenches as told by veterans.
This screening and talk are open to everyone. Please note that the film is rated as 14A. It contains scenes of violence and descriptions of war which may be considered unsuitable for younger viewers.
