At such a poignant time of the year, it is important to commemorate and thank all the veterans and active service personnel for their commitment to serving our country.We start our celebrations immediately after the remembrance service at the cenotaph, where you will find the pub fully decorated.
From 1pm we are delighted to welcome The Vintage Trio. The Vintage trio are part of a bigger group of periodic singers.
Cassie
Cassandra has been performing since she was 5. She got her music degree in Leeds. She has been part of a number of orchestras, singing groups, bands and studio teams. Providing sound for projects such as Floodtide and the Tate Gallery. Cassandra has spent a lot of time as musical director and vocal coach for musical theatre shows. She embraced the vintage style many years ago and can be found singing the 1940s solo and in ensembles.
Tracy
Tracy works for a World War II charity and memorial, making Remembrance Sunday especially meaningful to her. A former professional singer, she performed in Monte Carlo and on cruise ships during her 20s and early 30s. Since returning home nine years ago, she has appeared in local plays, musicals, and pantomimes. With a love of jazz and classic songs, she now sings regularly with the Vintage Singers, directed by Cassie.
Sarah
Sarah has worked full-time for the NHS while dedicating her spare time to performing in musicals, plays, and pantomimes for over 30 years. With a deep appreciation for the vintage era, she has also been a member of the Vintage Singers for the past five years, bringing her passion for music and performance to audiences with charm and authenticity.
Expect to hear al the famous wartime songs and melodies to get you dancing. If the weather is kind, we re looking to feature the Vintage Trio out in our garden. TBC of course!!
Lastly, to thank all of our heroes we offer a free coffee to all veterans in military uniform before the service, and a Nip of Whiskey afterwards too
