It is with particular pleasure that my members, committee and I invite you to attend our annual Remembrance Day activity on this coming 11th November 2024.Following the service, we will conduct a special unveiling of our newly refurbished, iconic 25-Pounder Gun-Howitzer. This is the type of artillery piece that Australian Soldiers used extensively in World War 2 in North Africa, Middle East, South-West Pacific and subsequently.
We have four Artillery Veterans’ pictures in our Memorial Gallery, three of whom trained and fought on 25-Pounders. Additionally, we will ‘launch’ our new information plinths that will share important information about our four memorial artefacts to both our community and tourists passing through.
We are inviting local media to cover the overall program. Afterwards, morning tea and light refreshments will be served.
Venue: Inverleigh RSL Sub-Branch Inc, 63 High Street, Inverleigh VIC
Timings: Please arrive by 10:15h for a 10:40h start.
Dress code: Jacket and tie, or smart casual, as preferred.
Parking: Ample spaces onsite and close by.
