Robin Phillips, a Jazz singer, remembers the incomparable Tony Bennett. Frank Sinatra called him ‘the best in the business’ and he was so much more than a singer of popular songs.Tony had a hugely powerful voice and a great range, but could also communicate with such a personal touch, singing so emotionally and intimately you could feel you were the only person in the room.
In this programme Robin will perform in quartet line-up, as he shares his favourite Bennett songs, from the most famous, to the less well-known ones that Robin has a deep connection with.
