In observation of Memorial Day, military historian Mark Radeleff will deliver a PowerPoint presentation about Redlands war veterans buried at Hillside Cemetery. Mr. Radeleff will speak about veterans ranging from American Civil War veteran Charles Gauthier to Raymond Alcaraz, who was killed in action in Afghanistan. Like Sgt. Alcaraz, many of these veterans paid what Pres. Abraham Lincoln called "the last full measure of devotion.” “A Vietnam veteran himself, Mark’s presentations combine incredible research skills with compelling visuals and illustrations," noted Library Director Don McCue. The presentation will take place at 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 23 in the Assembly Room at A.K. Smiley Public Library in Redlands. The library is located at 125 W. Vine St. Admission is free.
