Remains of World War II Hero Return Home to Weymouth After 80 Years Missing in Action
After more than 80 years Private Alfred Thomas Langevin U.S. Army a Weymouth native who was killed in action during World War II and had been classified as Missing in Action since 1944 is finally coming home. His remains were recently identified. Pvt. Langevin will be honored by his hometown with a series of tributes recognizing his bravery sacrifice and long-awaited return.
The public and the media are invited to join the Langevin family the Town of Weymouth veterans and community members to welcome Pvt. Langevin home and pay tribute.

Remains Arrive at Logan Airport
Saturday November 8 2025
- 6:18 a.m. – Arrival at Logan International Airport (Boston) onboard American Airlines Flight 2453
- 7:00 a.m. – Dignified transport departs for Weymouth
Public Calling Hours
Sunday November 9 2025
- 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Weymouth Town Hall 75 Middle Street Weymouth MA
- Pvt. Langevin will lie in honor for the public to pay their respects
Funeral Procession and Burial with Full Military Honors
Monday November 10 2025
- 10:00 a.m. – Procession departs from McDonald Keohane Funeral Home 809 Main Street South Weymouth
- Route will travel through Weymouth including a final pass through Jackson Square where Pvt. Langevin was born and raised
- 11:00 a.m. – Graveside Service and Burial at Fairmount Cemetery 168 Cedar Street Weymouth MA
- Service to include full military honors
Keohane is honored to serve Pvt. Langevin’s family in his homecoming. In tribute Keohane will provide flags to local schools and community members to wave along the procession route in honor of Pvt. Langevin’s return. Pvt. Langevin’s full obituary can be found here.
