In this all-abilities class, tudents will learn the basics of relief printmaking with Artist-in-Residence Mayah DeMartino.
You will lleave this course with a greater understanding of the possible ranges of relief printmaking and create and print a selection of 1-3 images carved on linoleum and either hand-printed or printed on one of the ZACC printing presses.
Mayah will show you how to will experiment with hand-printing as well as teaching you to use the printing presses. Skills covered will include carving techniques, image transfer techniques, printing techniques, editioning prints, and more.
Mayah DeMartino is a relief printmaker and writer based in Missoula, MT. They are an MFA candidate in the University of Montana's Creative Writing Program and have had work showcased in the Washington Square Review and Western Washington University's B-Gallery.
