Na Oddelku za biologijo Biotehniške fakultete v Ljubljani mesečno organiziramo strokovne seminarje s širokega področja ekologije in evolucije. Serija seminarjev, poimenovana Ecology & Evolution Doctoral Seminar Series, je namenjena raziskovalcem in doktorskim študentom ter vsem ostalim, ki jih teme zanimajo. Seminarji potekajo v živo na Oddelku za biologijo in v angleškem jeziku. Vabimo vas na seminar z naslovom »Grassland restoration: Relative effectiveness of different restoration methods on plant and invertebrate diversity«. Predaval bo dr. Semi-natural grasslands in Central Europe are critical ecosystems with high biodiversity but have suffered significant decline due to agricultural intensification. These grasslands host a wide variety of plant and invertebrate species, making their preservation crucial for ecological balance. This research focuses on active grassland restoration, exploring key factors that influence successful ecosystem rehabilitation. The study investigates the complex interactions between restoration methods, including soil disturbance intensity, seeding techniques, and seed sources. By conducting a meta-analysis and comprehensive field experiments across the Swiss Plateau, the research aims to develop evidence-based strategies for grassland restoration and contribute to broader conservation efforts during the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
