About this Event
This is a two-day workshop designed to be interactive with part one (#1a) being a prerequisite for participating in part two (#1b). You must attend both dates! Registration ends February 1st.
This series will be led by Emergent Mission, and will introduce an expansive approach for realizing your missional and financial stewardship goals. Relational Stewardship moves beyond the traditional mindset and practice of stewardship as a series of transactional requests for money to deeper more meaningful experiences of giving that expand your community’s understanding of stewardship as a series of life enriching and transformational conversations.
February 15th - 9am – 12pm
Workshop #1a: Relational Stewardship: Cultivating an Appreciation and Enthusiasm for Giving
For many parishes the mindset of stewardship has long been associated with funding annual operating expenses, the occasional capital campaign, enriching the endowment, or funding a special project. This workshop will introduce you to an expansive approach to stewardship that integrates the practical need for funding with your missional call to nurture deeper, more meaningful and transformational relationships with parishioners, neighbors and other supporters in ways that inspire an appreciation and enthusiasm for participating in your mission through giving - financially, participating in ministry, and the sharing of God-given gifts. Moreover, it builds your success on the missional, relational, and pastoral skills that embody the very nature of parish ministry.
March 1st 9am – 12pm
Workshop #1b: Implementing Relational Stewardship in Your Parish
As an Episcopal faith community your ability to establish meaningful value-added relationships with parishioners, neighbors, and other supporters is essential to achieving your mission and financial stewardship goals. Grounded in the richness of Episcopal identity and theology, this workshop explores the process for implementing a relational approach to stewardship that lifts up the power of intentional conversation in bringing to light the motivations – aspirations, challenges and life experiences - that underpin every parishioner’s call to be a member of their faith community, along with your unique ability to meet those needs and impact their lives in ways that inspire an appreciation and enthusiasm for participating in your mission through giving.
