About this Event

This Two-Day Workshop includes Cricut Maker and a supply bundle (valued at over $800). The Makers Space Beginner's Kit is an add on.

Two-day workshop for Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School Teachers.

A Makerspace is a collaborative, student-centered learning environment that encourages problem-solving and hands-on exploration.

Reimagining Education through Makerspaces is an innovative strategy to support diverse learners through project-based learning. Teachers can easily incorporate instructional strategies and academic content into the classroom and/or Makerspace areas with the Cricut machine.

The Cricut Maker offers a wide range of tools for cutting, scoring, writing, and more. This innovative teaching tool can be used to create a range of products. This machine can be used as an innovative teaching tool to encourage creativity, planning, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship skills.

In this workshop, teachers will gain skills to meet the needs of diverse learners, encouraging students to use creativity and innovation. Teachers will learn strategies to adjust their instruction so that students learn the connections and relationships between concepts; moving away from rote learning and developing better critical thinking skills.

As a bonus, The Reimagining Education through Makerspaces workshop will provide teachers with the tools, components, and skills to implement a Makerspace's learning environment in their classroom or school.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Teachers will learn how to implement Makerspaces in their classrooms and/or school communities using the tools/device provided during the workshop.·
  • Teachers will use the Cricut Marker to create engaging lessons and captivating learning experiences for students.
  • Teachers will sharpen their design skills by planning project-based activities that develop students’ planning and problem-solving skills in a Makerspaces.
  • Teachers will create work samples and resources aligned with their subject area to implement in their classrooms and Makerspaces during the school year.
  • Teachers will learn how to support students as they produce completed projects aligned with various subject areas and STEAM objectives.
