About this Event
…an enquiry prompted by Wilsome
Extractive. Manipulative. Corrosive. Ruthless.
Even when harnessed for pro-social and ecological causes, the professional practice of communications often seems to operate with the very dynamics that are driving our wider predicament.
Many professional communicators are asking questions about the way we go about our business, as well as the wisdom of the objectives we are pursuing.
At the same time, voices for regenerative practices across a range of fields, from agriculture to tourism to design, seem to be gathering into a chorus.
Is ‘regenerative’ a helpful way to weave the various progressive efforts relevant to communication together, in a direction that’s more explicitly aligned with the urgent need to regenerate living systems in the world?
How might communications work in service of the wellbeing of the whole, including the wellbeing of those doing the work? Should we be more actively questioning the assumption that the ends justify the means?
Charlie Peverett, partner at Wilsome LLP and co-organiser of Content Rising, will lead us into the conversation, inviting contributions from other practitioners. You’re invited to join this reflective session, as we hear from people with experiences of working in a wide range of professional communications roles.
