Artsplorations theatre workshops are during Fall Break (October 6 - 10).
All workshops are beginner-friendly.
Participants should register by October 3 for all Fall Artsplorations workshops.
Read below for details about each workshop:
Intro to Theatre with Melonie Carideo is open to ages 5 - 11. The workshop meets Monday and Wednesday, October 6 and 8, 10:00 - 11:30 AM. This workshop includes a tour of the theater, learning basic theatre vocabulary, some fun theatre games, tips on how to audition, how props and costumes can change your performance, and more! This two-day workshop is $30 and includes all materials.
Improvisation with Emerson McKenzie is open to ages 14 - 17. The workshop meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, October 6, 8, and 10, 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Students will get hands-on learning experience focused on developing spontaneity, creativity, and collaboration skills through interactive exercises and games. This three-day workshop is $25 and includes all materials.
Musical Theatre Games with Tyler Peaden is open to ages 5 - 11. The workshop meets Tuesday October 7, 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Students will learn and play games meant to encourage movement, vocals, and character use by Musical Theatre Professionals. This one-day workshop is $15 and includes all materials.
Create Your Own Choreography with Kelly Borwick is open to ages 12 - 17. The workshop meets Tuesday and Thursday, October 7 and 9, 1:00 - 2:00 PM. In this workshop, dancers will find inspiration from music, movement, and surroundings. They will focus on developing their dance by improvising, refining movements and incorporating transitions. This two-day workshop is $30 and includes all materials.
Musical Theatre History with Tyler Peaden is open to ages 5 - 11. The workshop meets Thursday October 9, 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Students will learn about the beginnings of musical theatre and about where musical theatre is heading. Watch videos from historic musicals and learn why each type of musical theatre is valid and important. This one-day workshop is $15 and includes all materials.

Please note there is a transaction fee to register online; however, students may register over the phone at 423-745-8781, or in person at The Arts Center, with no transaction fee.
