Regenerative Business: Rethinking Value Creation with Doughnut Economics

A practical and challenging masterclass for businesses, investors, and change-makers
About this Event

OVERVIEW

Traditional economic models are built around endless GDP growth — but at what cost, and for how long can this continue? And is it even possible?

The concept of Doughnut Economics, developed by Kate Raworth, offers a compelling alternative: an economy that enables human prosperity within planetary boundaries. This masterclass introduces the Doughnut as a regenerative and distributive framework and explores how its principles can be applied to business, in investment decisions and in organisational decision-making.

Rather than asking how to grow faster, this session asks a more powerful question:
How can businesses create value that works for people, planet, and long-term resilience?

WHAT YOU WILL EXPLORE

In this interactive and collaborative session, participants will explore:

  • The Seven Principles of Doughnut Economics
Understand how to shift from extractive, profit-first models towards regenerative and distributive business practices.
  • Regenerative Business & Investment Strategies
Explore how companies and investors can redesign ownership, governance, incentives, and decision-making to align with social and ecological wellbeing.
  • Practical Actions & Real-World Examples
Identify concrete steps to integrate Doughnut thinking into your organisation, work, community, or industry, supported by real-world case studies.
  • Embedding Ambition Beyond Growth
Learn what it means to become growth-agnostic — focusing instead on regeneration, resilience, and shared prosperity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is not a passive lecture. Expect to be challenged, to question familiar assumptions, and to explore what a regenerative economy could look like in practice.

The ideas are ambitious — but they are possible, viable, and already emerging.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of regenerative business
  • New mental models for decision-making
  • Practical starting points for action
  • Examples of businesses in Singapore and Asia that are already implementing these changes.
