Join us on Monday, September 8 from 4-6:30pm in the Lewiston Public Library’s Couture Room for a workshop on creating Regency-style costumes. This beginner-friendly event will include a presentation of the basics of early 19th century fashion and ideas for thrifting, sewing, and otherwise DIY-ing a period-inspired outfit. It will also provide ample time for participants to ask questions, brainstorm as a group, and start planning and working on their costumes. The purpose of this program is to prepare participants interested in dressing up for the library’s Regency Ball later in the fall. The Regency Ball, occurring October 18 at 7pm, will be Lewiston Public Library’s first literary ball and is inspired by Jane Austen.
The costume workshop will provide access to some basic tools and supplies, including sewing machines. It is a free program open to participants ages 13 and up.
