The first careers event run by Work and Thrive Newcastle's ESOL Service will take place on Monday 11.03.2024 from 13:00 until 16:00 in Bewick Hall, Level 2, Newcastle City Library NE1 8AX.
Who is the event for?
The event is for women with refugee status (+ right to work) including but not limited to Afghans and Ukrainians. This cohort includes highly-skilled workers and first time jobseekers, some with excellent English language skills and others who have only recently started to learn the language.
How many attendees are you expecting?
We have initially issued 300 tickets via Eventbrite but may expand to 500, we also expect some people to turn up on the day without booking.
How are you advertising the event?
We are advertising the event through JCP, further education institutions and through dedicated teams working with specific groups (e.g. Homes for Ukraine).
Who are you looking for to cover stands at the event?
We are looking for a mixture of local/regional employers, recruiters, organisations offering employability support and the voluntary sector.
Attached is our flyer for jobseekers wishing to sign up to attend.
