Seeing how to minimize our impact on the planet through a food lens. Even try your hand at an easy recipe!
About this Event

Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner! Known as one of the top food consumption days of the year. Yet America ranks as the #1 country with the most wasteful food practices. Luckily, there are ways to celebrate holidays and sporting events in a sustainable way that works for you, your friends & family, and our environment!

At the Theodore Payne Foundation, we believe co-existing with nature goes beyond gardening. From curbside organics recycling to knowing how your food is packaged and where it comes from. There are many approaches to help the rich biodiversity in southern California thrive.

During this interactive workshop, we will learn all about the natural resources utilized to produce food for large populations, new laws and strategies to reduce food waste, meal planning, local composting, and food reduction services such as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and meal prep services. As well as fun recipes and cooking guides to incorporate into your daily life.

Together we'll make a tasty “no bake” protein ball recipe to take home. This simple snack is sure to score a touchdown at any gathering!

All ingredients and materials will be provided.
