Reflexology is a holistic complementary therapy based on the principle that specific points on the feet, hands, face, and ears correspond to different organs and systems of the body. By applying pressure to these reflex points, we aim to promote health and well-being by clearing blockages in energy flow and promoting optimum function. As a holistic therapy, we treat the person as a whole, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We are not focusing on one specific area but instead encouraging homeostasis, when the body maintains a stable internal environment despite changes in external conditions. Reflexology is deeply relaxing and, when received regularly, can help achieve and maintain wellbeing and inner peace. In today’s workshop, I will talk you through the different types of reflexology and how they can help with different ailments and issues. I will demonstrate some key points in the feet, face, and hands, and show you some self-care routines that you can try yourself, as well as offering some short taster treatments.
