Trainer's biography: Maria Bulgakova

Maria Bulgakova is the Clinical Lead in Women + Health. She is a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with a decade-long track record of working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and abuse in national leading charities in clinical and operational roles. She is especially interested in healing and recovery after trauma, applying an integrative and holistic approach.

Her pre-therapeutic background lays in journalism and human rights activism. She lived in 5 different countries, which gave an opportunity to broaden and deepen an experience in understanding of isolation and belonging. She has a special interest in music, literature and creative arts, which followed through her life, as it brings another therapeutic dimension on the way of healing.

Maria teaches counselling at local colleges and is passionate about sharing knowledge and shaping the future of therapeutic care.
