Join us for our final Archives Month speaker, Emeritus Professor Harvest Collier. This presentation will provide a descriptive collection of lived experiences spanning more than three decades. With the expectation of audience engagement, the discussion will offer his perspectives on what led his family to Rolla, Missouri, what 30+ years of service to the university community provided, and what impact those experiences have had on his world view.
In sharing his experiences on the pursuit of a productive academic career in the S&T culture, reflections on navigating his way as a STEM student, research scientist, entrepreneur and academician during one of the seemingly tumultuous periods in our history, may compel every listener to reflect on their own sensitivity to their engagement in our society.
The event will be in-person, on the 2nd floor of the Missouri S&T Library. It will also be available on both Zoom (register for event at https://shsmo.org/events/2025/reflections-academic-career-first-african-american-faculty-university-missouri-rolla) and Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/MissouriSandTArchives).
