Empower Your Community, Become a Referee! Are you passionate about football and making a difference? Becoming a referee is a powerful way to stay involved in the game you love while also contributing to fair play and inclusivity.
As part of The FA's commitment to addressing the under-representation of Asian, Black and Mixed Heritage referees, more opportunities are accessible now than ever before.
This course will be led in two parts:
- Part 1: Thursday 26 September, 6 pm - 9 pm
- Part 2: Saturday 28 September 9 am - 4 PM
We need more voices from underrepresented communities on the field! By stepping into this role, you're not just ensuring that games are played fairly—you're also setting an example for the next generation. Refereeing is more than just making calls; it's about leadership, integrity, and empowering others through sports.
Why Should You Consider Refereeing?
Representation Matters: Your presence on the pitch can inspire and encourage others from similar backgrounds to get involved.
Skill Development: Refereeing hones your decision-making, communication, and leadership skills—valuable in any career.
Community Impact: You can be a role model, showing that opportunities in the beautiful game are open to everyone.
To support football being truly a game for all, FA Refereeing and Kick It Out are working in partnership to offer bursaries across FA Refereeing Courses at a discounted rate of £40 (instead of £145) for Black, Asian and Mixed Heritage populations of Kent. The initiative is aligned with the new FA and Kent FA Refereeing Strategy; a wider goal of helping to increase referee recruitment from historically under-represented ethnic communities.
Don’t wait for change—be the change!
