Info: This educational session for workers in San Diego County will focus on the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the rights and responsibilities related to fair chance hiring. The Fair Chance Act, which went into effect on January 1, 2018, is a California law that aims to reduce undue barriers to employment for individuals with criminal histories. In conjunction, the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance clarifies candidates' rights, introduces additional compliance requirements due to gaps found in the state law, and improves enforcement by introducing penalties for Ordinance violators.
